We went to that. It was OK, but a little too casual a scene for really learning anything about the wines. And most of the wines were not terribly interesting, IMHO.
For the money — $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door — I would have expected more of a learning environment… not to mention the option of tables and chairs! To stand around and chit-chat with other patrons for 60-90 minutes and balance paper plates of (mostly unhealthy) Mexican food with your wine glass….well, it wasn’t the best experience. On the plus side, I did appreciate the very nice wine glasses they let you use for the tasting, and a couple of the wines were better than average.
