    Party at Tino Vino

This past weekend my wife and I hosted an Engagement cocktail party for our good friends at Tino Vino in East Hyde Park. We had been to Tino Vino before for after dinner drinks, but let me be the first to say it’s an incredible place for your next party as well.

Tino Vino is a boutique winery, wine bar and do-it-yourself wine making facility all in one. The vibe is very casual and friendly, which is one of the reasons why we thought it would make a perfect location to celebrate with our friends. The Barrel Room in the back of Tino Vino, which we reserved for our cocktail party, was perfect for our group of 25 or so and can accommodate up to 60 (for larger groups you can reserve the entire facility and host up to 120 people).

Preparation for our party couldn’t have been easier. A week or so before the event we ordered food through Tino Vino’s catering menu. We went with the mini sandwiches, hummus, olive & cheese tray, veggies, spinach dip and shrimp tray. The food was ready and waiting when the party started and everything was delicious. Tino Vino’s many in-house crafted wines took care of all our drink needs.

The highlight of the evening had to be the wine making. Something that makes Tino Vino unique is their DIY wine making facility right on site.  tino-vino2Our friends made their very own batch of the Super Tuscan (the Octavian) which in November 2010 will grace the tables at their wedding reception. Now that’s cool.

Elizabeth and the entire staff at Tino Vino took very good care of us and ensured our friends had a wonderful engagement party. You can tell the folks at Tino Vino really love what they do.
